YouTube should remove its dislike button

--

There’s nothing constructive or revelatory about a downvote. Either enjoy a video or skip it entirely. Many people will dislike something merely to weaken the creator — even using multiple accounts to force their point. When a video receives many likes, it initially inspires new viewers to like that video as well. Unsurprisingly, the same goes for dislikes.

This mindset allows spiteful people to damage someone who worked hard for his/her content. 8–15 hours worth of work can be denied in 5 seconds by people who’s only daily contribution is to degrade others from behind their phones mindlessly.

I would suggest a like button, subscribe button, maybe add an ignore button. When you feel you have to share your disagreement, there’s a comment section for that. Social media already instills enough stressful pandemonium. YouTube doesn’t need it.
