Yes, ‘slow-carb’ is a splendid routine! I love that you bring it up, George.

A few years ago, when I was 220 pounds (100kg), I started with the “6-meals-a-day” and it slightly worked for a month. I don’t like feeling full all day, so I switched to the Keto diet. That also worked, but it became damn boring.

Finally, I found out about the slow-carb diet and that became my new standard. Plenty of proteins, vegetables and fats for 6 days (no starchy carbs at all), and 1 day of stuffing my face behind closed doors. That was never an attractive sight. I remember eating 1 whole pizza, 1 kebab, French fries, brownies and ice cream, in one sitting. Felt like a walrus for 2 days. Amen.

Combined with Intermittent Fasting (16:8) It helped me go to 145 (66kg) without a problem. My lowest weight, at some point, was 60kg. That’s when I stopped ‘dieting’. The best system/routine is the one you stick to.

Like I mentioned, I wanted to attain the physique of someone who’s at his starting point as best as I could for this challenge, without sabotaging my own health too much. This meant a lot of sugar and fast-food and no training. The only thing I never stopped doing was the fasting. That sure made it difficult.

My last weigh-in was 3 weeks ago. It said 160 pounds (73kg). It may be important to know that I’m 1.80m tall. Right now, considering how I look and feel, I’m probably at 145–147 again. I don’t use a scale anymore because I only focus on my reflection in the mirror. The more my abs (and other muscles) start showing, the better I’m doing. Simple.

The first update will be on Monday, August 5. I’ll also talk about the next stage of the fitness journey.

This was probably a longer response than you were expecting. My apologies.
