Why You Don’t Need Colleges and Bosses to Prove Your Worth
Real Credentials Are Made, Not Given
I was brought up with the idea that I wouldn’t be able to find success in life if I didn’t go to college. Society wouldn’t care about me because of not being in possession of that piece of paper. I would be a low-life in their eyes.
“You need to know what you want to study now.”
“You need a degree to become someone respectable.”
“Do you want to end up on the streets?”
I believed this outdated narrative for years.
This might’ve been true decades ago but times have changed. We’ve come to realize that another way to become successful in our endeavours is to focus on those specific, essential things that will make us masters of our craft.
I’m talking about:
- authenticity and sincerity.
- building deep, meaningful relationships with peers and mentors.
- ambition to improve ourselves.
- adopting a growth-oriented mindset in every aspect of life.
- investing in people, books, courses, and workshops.
- creativity and experimentation.
