A short recap of the past three months
I’ve been living in a foreign country for the past three months.
At certain points in life, you know deep down it’s time to take a leap of faith. You’ve been living by other people’s rules, standards and beliefs. There comes a point when you realise you have to stop, step back and really think about what you’re doing.
At the start of this year, I made the decision to live abroad because I wanted to chase the existence that I want to live— the life of a creative.
Initially, I was planning to move to Asia but eventually ended up in Budapest. During the winter of 2017, a good friend and I lived there for a month. I met the woman who has now been my girlfriend for over a year. She lived with me in Belgium during the last year, and we agreed to move back to her country for an indefinite amount of time.
Spending my time and energy on polishing my creativity and sharing value with other people is what makes my life meaningful. It probably wasn’t going to render sufficient money at the start. It certainly wasn’t going to seem rational to the people around me, but it’s what makes me happy more than anything else. It makes me wake up…
